Jen Valender’s multi-channel video work Field draws inspiration from the sights, sounds, stories, and encounters with local beings and residents on the University of Melbourne Dookie campus’ working farm. Created during Valender’s time on the University of Melbourne’s Dookie Agricultural Campus for her CoVA Art + Ecology residency, the work explores the relationship between art and the natural world, and prompts the viewer to reflect on their perception of life on the farm.
