Tammy-Lee Atkinson is an accomplished Yorta-Yorta artist with strong connections to family, community in northern Victoria. She is a proud Aboriginal woman who loves to learn and share her culture through painting, drawing and printmaking. In her work, she attaches symbolic meaning to story and design elements that best represent her relationship to Country that is embedded in the land, people and the history of First Nations people in northern Victoria.
Tammy-Lee is an arts graduate having completed her Bachelor of Visual Arts at IKE at Deakin University in 2016 and more recently a Certificate 3, Visual Arts, Centre for Koorie Education, in Shepparton. Since 2014, Tammy-Lee has worked as a tutor in Aboriginal art and culture at Kaiela Arts and has presented works in group shows in Shepparton, Koorie Heritage Trust in Melbourne and at the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (DAAF). She has worked as a project coordinator at Kaiela Arts, developing art projects for Aboriginal women and youth at risk and she is particularly interested in creating opportunities for young Koorie people to reconnect with culture through art.
