A N N O U N C E M E NT – 2 June 2021
Like everyone working and planning in the events sector, we are watching with bated breath. With today’s (2 June) announcement from the Victorian State Government, we are cautiously optimistic that we will be able to deliver the majority of the planned Festival events, running from 11 to 27 June.
With no community transmission in regional Victoria this week, regional restrictions are proposed to begin easing from 11:59pm on 3 June. If implemented, these revised restrictions mean we can still deliver many of the programmed events. We are also hopeful that, all being well, restrictions will be further eased the following week, offering the possibility of the entire program being delivered as planned.
If, against all our hope, restrictions don’t allow us to deliver some events then we will reschedule them if we can. Rest assured that we have a plan B, plan C and plan D ready to go. Regular updates will be available via social media and the website.
We are committed to the community, artists, contractors and all of the people who contribute to producing and delivering the 25th Shepparton Festival. With that in mind we have planned for this. Whilst we couldn’t forecast the exact rules around any lockdown, we do have contingencies in place to manage them. We will push on wholeheartedly and confidently, mindful of and adhering to the latest State Government health advice.
We ask the community to do what we already know how to do; we’ve been here before. We encourage everyone to do the right thing, continue to participate and engage where it’s appropriate. We strongly value the support. So please don’t stop celebrating everything the Festival can and will be in 2021.
