Planning a CovidSafe Festival

When planning the 2022 Shepparton Festival our focus will firmly be on how to bring art and momentous events safely to the public while ensuring their wellbeing as well as that of artists, volunteers, and staff.

In the lead up to our 2022 festival, we will continue to develop our COVID plans, policies and staff training modules that will be informed by the directions of the Chief Health Officer. In developing these documents considerations will include (but are not limited to):

  • Continuous assessment of risk based on Government advice
  • Regulatory and industry practice
  • Staff and volunteer training
  • Social distancing and venue spaces
  • Outdoor versus indoor
  • Management of interaction points between individuals (e.g. ticket handling)
  • Infection control (cleaning and hygiene, food and drink service, PPE)
  • Contact tracing
  • Vaccination requirements
  • Communication to stakeholders
  • Alternative delivery modes (e.g. online, radio, video)
  • Postponing/cancelling events

COVIDSafe Settings

 

Following the festival motto “Unique Events in Unusual Places” the 2022 festival will be no different. 

Events will be held in various places and spaces and the Festival will be following the sector guidance as directed by the Chief Health Officer and The Victorian Government.
Different COVIDSafe Settings may apply to each venue or event depending on the sector guidance for that particular venue or public event.

Wearing a mask is encouraged if you are unable to physically distance.
